Colour and Tone in Skin

This drawing took roughly 45minutes and was done in coloured pastels, I was trying to achieve the colour of skin tone.

This hasn't worked as well as it could have, the colours used are too "hot" and not enough blues and greens were used to balance the colours. The darker colours on the backs of the legs create the illusion shadows forming where no lights would be hitting. This works especially well under the neck and chin for really giving the image depth. The skin tone itself is a little to pink and could have done with being cooled down with a few cold colours.
